The yard

I was up with the birds today. By six a.m. I’d finished reading a Norman Levine story and by 6:30 I was back from walking the dogs. With the sky threatening rain again, I hurried to get some outdoor tasks done: I edged all the garden borders with the snippy (non-mechanical) trimmer, pulled out some dandelions and raked. By the time Eric got up, I’d had my tea and done the same to the front yard.

Next, we went to the farmer’s market for vegetables and lake trout (for Eric). I also bought two pairs of jeans at the Salvation Army and a collection of essays and stories at the used book shop. In the afternoon we visited the old CPR station for Doors Open Owen Sound, bought more groceries, then came back to the garden. The sun came out just so I could throw mulch on everything and Eric could make a BBQ. The girls just lazed about.

At the moment we’re still outside. Everyone but me is still lazing about.
