Beer fish

On a trip to Owen Sound to determine its livability, I understood this street art inspired by beer labels to be a good sign.

Art along the pathway to the Owen Sound farmer's market.
Shiny arty fish.
On closer inspection, many fishes.
Most amazingly, all the fishes are beer fishes.

Since I live in Ontario now, I am free to share photos of beer art. Note that I do not actually own this piece. Not yet anyway.

Christmas 2009

decor-14

After the snowstorm, Eric and I headed to his dad’s house to celebrate Christmas as originally planned. It was our first year to choose a live Christmas tree and of course we couldn’t decide, so we ended up with two: a little potted rosemary bush and 2 foot blue spruce that we will plant after we find the key to the shed with the shovel. Since all of our ornaments are in boxes in Montreal, we made some paper ones out of books from the local Friends of the Library used bookstore ($3’s worth), new ribbon ($4), buttons ($2), rubber stamps (borrowed from Nancy), and my new Colorbox inkpad in reds and silvers.

Finishing the paperwork

4 weeks after The Great Separation, it took a weekend-long trip to Burlington to get all of our papers filled in perfectly. Or so we thought. Here are photos of us naively celebrating just a couple days before we realized we were missing the FBI clearance in our Application to Get E. Back To Canada.

It will be another few weeks before EVERYTHING is in.

Love turtles and pumpkin beer

(Yesterday Tuesday). The day started sunny, but a morning walk through pretty hills ended with gunfire. Hunting season / target practice (?) The echoing of bullets did not disturb the love turtles, however; it was my intrusive photography that made them shy. After a delicious lunch (pizza not turtles), E. fled to Denver with pretty much only his computer and climbing shoes. Silly boy left his jacket and new white tshirts in the car.
