Dogs and blankies

blankie-1
One of three new blankies sewn from repurposed fabrics. Sage demonstrates how to ignore you in a blankie made from turtleneck sweaters and a leftover IKEA duvet cover.
blankie-2
Here Abbey is modelling a blankie made with leftover fleece and more of that duvet cover.
blankie-3
Not a new blankie, but the girls can’t do without.

Gin Islands revisited

Summer recap

The reason why I haven’t posted in so long is largely related to having no well-functioning camera. Then summer ended with the fall of the PT Cruiser and three weeks of car shopping.

This is an amalgamation of bits of things we did, but it doesn’t capture what stands out. When I think of how time flew by, I think of going for a quick swim every afternoon and spending a lot of time watering the garden.

Sage’s thirteenth

We celebrated Sage’s birthday with pumpkin-blueberry-banana pancakes. I knew she knew they were for her when she laid at my feet while I was cooking. Both dogs devoured them, I hope it won’t add too much to their girths.

Why no present on the momentous occasion of Sage becoming a teenager? Because Canadian Tire was all sold out of decoy mallards and that’s all she really wanted. We will check back later this week.
