Boyd Crevices
The Bruce Trail Conservancy website describes this place as a “labyrinth of crevices cut deep into the Escarpment rock”. It’s one of our new favourite hikes and just a quick drive from home. On the day we visited in May with tea and snacks, it hailed.

Notes for next time:
- Don’t take 14′ boat through The Gap in high winds
- Don’t camp near rattlesnakes
- Find out if there is such a thing as “snake bells”
- Don’t camp near poison ivy
- Buy tall hiking socks
- Don’t let Abbey jump onto the dock without a life jacket
- Don’t haul Abbey out of the water by the leash when she is underwater, under the dock
- Bring towels / blankies for the dogs
- Get thicker sleeping pads
- Get a solar charger
- Get print charts (and laminate them)
- Don’t wear black pants near mosquitoes
- If {packing art supplies}, then {include sketchbook}
- Remember to pack: watershoes, fleece pants, fleece jacket, gaiters
- Grocery wish list: veggie dogs, tortillas & PB, cookies, additional beer
- Definitely camp at the Chimney Bay or Oaks campground again!
