Bass season begins 2014/06/29 Karen 0 comment 15 hours on Chesley Lake at 27 degrees Celcius. Welcome to bass season! At six, we were almost the first ones on the lake. 6:20 am – First bass of the season (largemouth) 6:54 am – First smallmouth. 6:54 am – Two more largemouths. 7:12 am 7:35 am 7:59 am 8:42 am – My first catch, lemon loaf. 11:13 am – Lady Sagie starts to melt. 11:14 am – Abbey wilts below decks 12:29 am – To land? Haha, no. 12:29 am – Eric keeps us parked in shade. 1:59 pm – The pike that got away. 2:23 pm 2:45 pm – Sage goes Arabian, needs more shade. 4:49 pm – Headed to another siesta. 4:50 pm 6:04 pm – A nap spot by willow and reeds. 7:11 pm – Lucky this wasn’t the South Pacific. 7:11 pm 7:12 pm 7:26 pm 7:39 pm 8:24 pm – Catch of the day! 8:25 pm 8:31 pm 8:33 pm – Find any land yet? 8:47 pm 8:48 pm 8:50 pm – Zzzzzzzz…. 9:14 pm 9:22 pm THE END

Boat Lake 2013/08/01 Karen 0 comment What a nice borrowed yellow canoe! A quiet day to go paddling. Such pretty lilies… Rather cute birds. And what lovely reeds! Look! Pa caught a wee little pike. UH… MA? Not now, Sagie! Pa’s fishing. Is that a little island? I should’ve packed my calligraphy set. Or at least watercolour crayons… HEY MOM! What now Sagie!?! Oh. Luckily we can paddle back to the bridge. And wait this out. … Have some snacks. Like cookies in Kongs. Tea. Abbey’s done already? Where to, Captain Abbey? HEY, MOM? Hm? CAN WE GO HOME NOW?
