Various attempts at crafting

Lace knit scarf

I just finished my first lace knitting project, a lightweight merino spring scarf in a heathered turquoise colour. Sage volunteered to model, she knows it’s not hers.

Scottie dog

Yesterday I finished knitting my first pup from the “Knit Your Own Dog” book I got for Christmas. I made the Scottish Terrier for our lovely Scottish neighbour who had us over for wine (again!) last night. I had to rush to finish him and now see I should’ve trimmed up his beard a bit more so he’d look less orphaned like Abbey!

Scarfy thing

Without enough of this yarn to knit a real scarf, I made a short one and added buttons. It’s more like an attachment that can turn an ordinary sweater into a turtleneck. It’s soft though, and just about cold enough to wear it now.

Slippered

Eric requested warm and cozy slippers, so I made these for him:

For Josephine

I’m an auntie! Here’s a little sweater and booties I knit for baby Josie, who we’ll have a chance to meet in late October when we fly down to Asheville. This might actually fit her by then :)

My first tea cosy

Despite the heat, I’ve felt like knitting lately and need to use up some leftover yarns. Yesterday I found tons of pretty knitting patterns for tea cosies online, picked the easiest one, and got started. Lo and behold, I realized that my teapot’s handle is not anything like the one the pattern was designed for. I had to improvise a bit, but I think it turned out alright. I’m ready for a rainy day!
