birthdays
Sage turns 11
Sage had a birthday last week! I cooked teeny little sweet potato pancakes, which she loved (and so did I). She likes her new rope bone, too, though she was sweet enough to share with Abbey.
Dad’s seventieth
These pictures of dad’s birthday don’t include the ordinary:
- opening of presents (forgot)
- eating homemade lasagna & cake (competitive sport)
- me, anna, eric or the 5 dogs in attendance (oopsy)
However, I do have some evidence of the aliens landing in the backyard…

Sage is nine
Sage had her ninth birthday on Wednesday! To celebrate, she got two long-ish walks and some special treats, one of which is her absolute favourite: yams.
She may not have known it was a special day though, because 1) Abbey also got to share the treats, and 2) she still had to “say please” before she got one.
Donkey Sanctuary, December 2011
On the weekend of my birthday, Eric and I visited the Donkey Sanctuary, this time bringing my mom and dad with us. We went on an Open House day so I could meet Gordon, who I was sponsoring this year as I sponsored Orly last year. We definitely plan to visit again this summer, when the hills are green and the donkeys are happier to be outside.

Happy Eric Day
Eric celebrated happy 36th yesterday with Crème Brûlée at home before going out for ordinary Ontario beer. I managed to fit candles into the chocolate brownie cheesecake despite forgetting to defrost it:
